MOSCOW, Apr 13 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Skoltech with support of the National Technology Initiative (NTI) Fund has designed the country’s first 5G base station, whose production will amount to 100 by the end of 2023, the fund said on Thursday in a statement.

“The three-year project to create the first prototype of a national 5G base station was completed successfully,” the fund said.

The total budget of the development amounted to 342 million rubles, including 300 million rubles received as a state grant.

Negotiations with the market players on unrolling of 5G pilot zones based on the development are in progress. The projects will be launched in 2023–2024.
